So, where did Fly & Sip come from?

Honestly, Fly & Sip started long before it had a name.

I grew up in Belgium and somehow always found my way into hospitality. I’ve been working in it since I was young, and I think that’s where a lot of this started, I love the way food and drinks bring people together. I love taking care of people, creating an experience, and watching a table of strangers slowly turn into a table of friends.

Travel has also been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my parents took us everywhere. I remember driving to Tuscany every summer, watching the scenery change along the way. Even now, I can still remember the smells of those summers in Italy. I think those little memories are probably where my love of discovering new places first started.

As I got older, I started traveling on my own, and that completely changed the way I saw the world. When you travel alone, you kind of have no choice but to look up. You talk to people. You sit at the bar. You ask questions. You end up somewhere you never planned on going. And somehow, those unplanned moments always became my favorite ones.

Years ago, I had this idea: what if I could bring people with me?

Being Belgian, the first version obviously involved beer.

I planned an entire Belgian beer trip — breweries, places to visit, the whole thing. I was ready to actually do it.

And then… COVID.

The world shut down, travel stopped, and so did the trip.

For a while, the idea just sat there.

But I never really forgot about it.

I kept working in hospitality. I kept traveling. Wine became a bigger and bigger part of my life, and the more I learned about it, the more I realized that what fascinated me wasn’t just wine itself.

It was where it could take you.

A bottle could take you to a tiny village in France, a hillside in Italy, a family vineyard that had been there for generations. You could taste the climate, the food, the history and the way people lived all through something being poured into your glass.

And one day, that old idea came back.

Except this time, it wasn’t just about Belgian beer.

It was about taking people with me.

I’ve been lucky enough to experience those little moments that make traveling feel almost magical, sitting around a table with people you just met, discovering a wine where it was made, tasting food you’ll think about years later, hearing someone tell you the story of their family, their vineyard, their town.

Those are the moments I want to share.

I want to take people to the places behind the bottle, not just to taste the wine, but to experience everything around it. The food, the culture, the people, the history, the landscape, and all those little things that make a place feel completely different from anywhere else.

That’s what Fly & Sip is to me.

It’s an invitation to come travel with me, discover these incredible places, meet the people who make them special, eat really good food, drink really good wine, learn a few things along the way, and hopefully go home with stories you’ll be telling for years.

Because the best part of discovering something magical is getting to share it.
